Conference Medical Professional Volunteer

“The irony has not escaped me that God asked me to deliver a lecture on communication in a country I’ve never been to, to a culture I’ve never experienced, to a group of people that don’t speak my language. Sometimes God calls you to do things that make no sense. My lesson for this trip was ‘Be you, and go there.’”

Will I Make a Difference?

What are past medical trip participants saying?

What was the most meaningful or memorable part of the trip for you?

“Being a witness to what God is doing in the hearts of the young people in Albania. What a blessing to see believers love and serve the Lord, and want to gospel message of Jesus Christ to go out. I was humbled, and honored to come alongside them.”

“I loved getting to speak to students about the gospel – some that had accepted Christ after last year’s conference, some that were very open and asking questions privately at meals or between talks or in the small groups, and sensing the Lord working in their minds and hearts.”

What would you tell someone who is considering joining a future AHF medical missions team?

“Anyone who visits Albania with the AHF team will get to experience seeing God work right before their eyes in ways we don’t often get to here in the US. In Albania, many people do not understand the gospel and they want to hear about it – they are open and desiring to know what we believe. Members of the team will get to both speak and live out the gospel to those who never thought about it before – what a privilege!”

“It’s very rare that you can make such a lasting impact on short trips but it is easy to do in Albania.”

How was your faith encouraged or strengthened through this experience?

“My faith was strengthened to get to share the Gospel out loud directly with groups and individuals who are actually interested in it and want to understand it. This is rare at home, but very common in Albania and our conferences. I was reminded and encouraged that there are people who God is calling to Himself and I loved being used to get to share Him – I’m strengthened to do the same here at home.”

Did you have any surprising, impactful, or transformational moments during the trip?

“As I develop more of a connection and relationship with the students, I’m amazed at how welcoming, generous, sincere, and grateful these students are. The impact you have on these students for life is overwhelming. The entire experience is transformational.”
